Biography
Kingsbury Projects has been restoring, retrofitting, and renovating historic buildings since the 1980’s. Lynn Kingsbury has received both state and national recognition for the restoration of historic homes which have been featured in magazines and showcased in home and garden tours. Lynn is a certified green building professional by Build It Green, the nonprofit organization that promotes energy and resource efficient building practices.
Professional History
Project Manager/Owner’s Representative, Marc Porat Residence, Palo Alto, California
Administering a full house green retrofit and historic restoration to Net Zero energy efficiency. Performed extensive research of green building materials and construction practices. Assembled and managing a full team of contractors, designers, subs, and vendors. Managing all fiscal responsibilities for $750,000 renovation. Currently, residing on site for optimum supervision. Coordinating promotional vendor program to educate professionals and public. Managing all aspects of household organization, accounting, staff, and maintenance.
Owner/Project Manager, Wesche-Dold Building, Las Vegas, New Mexico
Supervised a full restoration of an 1870’s Territorial style commercial building on the Santa Fe Trail. Awarded state and national recognition from the Historic Preservation Division. Interior space renovated to include an antique store, advertising photography studio, offices, and a 2700 sq. ft. living space. Implemented all aspects of design, hired and managed construction crews, budget administrator, processed applications for state and federal tax credits, and orchestrated all zoning and variance changes. Upon completion, established and operated a multi-dealer antique store and managed a photography studio producing national ads.
Owner/Project Manager, 1903 Victorian, Minneapolis, Minnesota
Executed full house restoration to original integrity. Found and implemented use of reclaimed materials for authenticity. Redesigned and upgraded the kitchen and bathrooms. Planned and maintained extensive landscaping.
Owner/Manager, d’Vino’s Restaurant & Wine Bar, Las Vegas, New Mexico
Owned, operated, and designed a fine dining restaurant and wine bar located in a historic hotel. Completed an extensive remodel of an office space to contain the wine bar. Full refurbish and update of restaurant dining room and kitchen. Increased sales of the fine dining restaurant 200% within one year of acquisition. Oversaw all aspects of restaurant management including menu and wine list creation, purchases, staff hiring and training, advertising and special event planning, and all fiscal responsibilities. Plan and orchestrated catered gatherings for private, business and non-profit events for up to 300 guests.
Owner/Project Manager, Wisconsin Lake Cabin, Cumberland, Wisconsin
Remodel project doubling the size of the existing log home and the addition of a multiuse outbuilding. Directed all aspects of remodel, supervision of crews, material purchases, and administered all financial matters.
Owner/Project Manager, New Mexico Mountain Retreat, Mora, New Mexico
Resurrected and restored log cabin with logs cut and assembled on property. The restoration included all new mechanical systems, roof, windows, interior walls, floors, kitchen, and three baths. Supervised extensive remodel using natural and local materials custom made by artisans. Established, built, and maintained landscaping and gardens, including an orchard, waterfall, decking, hot tub, and outside shower.
